Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Add the pineapple to the bottom of the baking dish and spread into an even layer.

Step 2

Spoon the cherry pie filling over the top of the pineapples, as evenly as possible, and sprinkle on the extract.

Step 3

Sprinkle the golden cake mix evenly over the top of the cherries. Place the pieces of butter on top of the cake mix.

Step 4

Bake for 35 to 45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling. Remove from the oven and let cool for at least 15 minutes.
