A Very Berry Cherry Smoothie is a treat you won’t soon forget!
I am very fortunate that my kids enjoy dairy products. They love yogurt in particular and have one almost every day. With summer here, I thought it would be fun to find other ways for the boys to get dairy in their diet because it really is so important. We love drinking smoothies in our house because they’re easy to take on the go and also it’s a great way for me to sneak a bunch of nutrition into a meal and Reece and Bryce thinking they’re getting a treat!
We are drowning in cherries right now (no joke!) and a cherry smoothie sounded like just the thing to use up some cherries and get in some dairy. This Very Berry, Cherry Smoothie is packed full of antioxidants and protein and is a great way to start (or end!) your day. I used Simply Orange Juice and FAGE Greek Yogurt along with cherries, strawberries, and blueberries for a nutrient-dense smoothie that tastes incredibly refreshing and delicious.
INGREDIENTS 1 1/2 c Simply Orange Juice (1) FAGE Greek Yogurt – Cherry Flavor (2) cups of frozen fruit (cherries, blueberries, and strawberries) ice (optional)
First I pitted my cherries and cut the strawberries into smaller pieces. If you have smaller strawberries, you can just leave them whole. I placed the cherries, strawberries, and blueberries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Freeze the fruit for two hours to create a nice consistency to your smoothie. If you don’t have the time to freeze the fruit – add in 1/2 – 1 cup of ice.
Once the fruit is frozen, combine the orange juice, fruit, and yogurt in a blender and blend until nice and smooth.
Pour and enjoy!
