Reese’s Marshmallow Brownies Recipe
This Reese’s marshmallow brownie recipe takes the classic chocolate brownie to a whole new level. It has layers of rich chocolate brownies, gooey marshmallow fluff, and everyone’s favorite peanut butter candy: Reese’s. The brownies are topped off with an addicting peanut butter-chocolate crispy rice layer that adds a ton of flavor and texture to these divine brownies.
These yummy Reese’s Brownies couldn’t be easier to make! To really cut back on time, I used a box of brownie mix. If you prefer, you can use your favorite homemade brownie recipe in place of the mix. The rest of the process is so easy, as you top the brownies with each of the remaining layers where only the top layer requires any real effort.
It’s the ultimate treat that peanut butter-chocolate fans are going to go crazy for! I don’t know about you, but a recipe with this much chocolate and peanut butter pretty much REQUIRES a cold glass of milk – so don’t forget that!

How to Make Reese’s Marshmallow Brownies
There are four different layers for this brownie recipe: brownie, marshmallow, Reese’s, and peanut butter-chocolate crispy rice. We’ll teach you how to layer each one below! As always, find the full printable recipe card at the end of this post.
- Prepare brownies according to package directions (or make your own!) for a 9×13 baking dish. Cool completely and refrigerate for at least one hour.
- Spread marshmallow fluff on top of chilled brownies and return to the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Top with halved Reese’s miniatures.
- Melt peanut butter and chocolate chips together in a microwave safe-container. Heat on high heat in 30 second intervals, stirring in between.
- Stir in crispy rice cereal until completely coated. Spread mixture carefully over the top of the Reese’s.
- Return to refrigerator for another hour before cutting into bars.
For a chewier topping, use a higher ratio of peanut butter to chocolate. If you prefer a crispier texture, use less peanut butter and more chocolate.
Storage Information
- Refrigerator: Store leftover brownies in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days. Sit out at room temperature for 10 minutes or so before enjoying.
- Freezer: Brownies can be frozen for up to 3 months as a whole pan or in individual slices. Whichever method you choose, wrap the brownies in plastic wrap, then aluminum foil, and placed in a freezer-safe container.
- Thawing: Thaw brownies on the counter before enjoying.
What can I use besides Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups?
This recipe is super customizable in that you can add almost anything on top of that marshmallow fluff layer. Snickers, PayDays, 100 Grand Bars, Twix and 3 Musketeers would all be delicious. You can also just leave that layer out should you prefer.
Variations To Try
This Reese’s Brownie recipe is delicious on it’s own but here are some delicious twists on this recipe:
- Consider swirling peanut butter in with the marshmallow creme layer.
- Add some chocolate chips or peanuts to the brownie layer.
- Try a different candy bar instead of Reese’s that goes well with the chocolate and peanut butter flavors.
- Double down on Reese’s and add a sprinkling of Reese’s Pieces to the top of the chocolate-peanut butter rice krispies layer before it sets up.
Trish’s Tips
- Letting the brownies cool completely before adding the marshmallow layer is essential, this ensures the marshmallow cream won’t melt everywhere.
- Sprinkle a touch of flaky sea salt over the top of the crispy rice topping before it sets. The salty contrast will enhance the flavor and sweetness of the other ingredients.
- Check out this cherry version for a yummy twist on this recipe!
- Opt for a non-natural peanut butter (classic creamy peanut butter – Skippy or Jif) for this recipe. The natural peanut butters tend to be too oily and will cause issues with the texture.
