Caramel Apple Dip Recipe
Fall is just around the corner and for me that means all things caramel apple. Fall is my favorite season, by far. It marks the beginning of the holiday season and the end of triple digit days here in Sacramento. I adore the crisp, fall air and the whole idea of spending time at apple orchards, carving pumpkins and spending precious time with friends and family.
The BEST Apples for Caramel Dipping
We make several trips up to Apple Hill annually. It’s where we go pick apples during the Fall, pumpkins in October, and our Christmas tree in December…or November depending on how much I beg. Whenever we go to Apple Hill, I always stock up on apples. I mean, like 20 or more pounds of apples.
How To Store Apples
Apples last a LONG time when refrigerated and nothing beats an Apple Hill apple for flavor. I use them in all my fall baking and enjoy them daily as a snack. When I want that snack to lean more towards a dessert…it’s this easy caramel apple dip recipe that I turn to.
You an use any type of apple you have on hand with this dip but I think Granny Smith are really great with it because the dip is so sweet. lBut we honestly eat this dip with every kind of apple you can think of: Gala, Honeycrisp, Fuji, Red Delicious, etc.
Only THREE Ingredients
With just three ingredients, this caramel apple dip recipe couldn’t be easier to make. It’s perfectly thick and sweet and is just begging for a slice of apple to be dipped into it.
I love to serve this dip at parties all fall long. It works great for holiday entertaining too! It’s a must have at cookie decorating parties, Halloween parties and game day!
How Easy Is It?
Sure, I said easy, but you’re probably wondering how easy, am I right? It’s simply a matter of combining all the ingredients together in a pot and melting them together.
Does NOT get any easier than this!

I cut apples into slices, placed in bowl of cold water then added salt. Left about 3 – 5 minutes then rinsed and patted dry. It worked. I will always use this method from now on. Also can then freeze the apple slices after.

How do you stop the apples from getting brown, I’ve tried the lemon juice, but they wind up tasting “lemony”. I’ve also tried 7 up or sprite too. Thanks

I do use lemons but I’ve found that by adding a few tablespoons of lemon juice to a bowl of ice water, it works just as well as using straight lemon. I just put the apples in the bowl as I cut and then when I’m ready, I’ll remove and pat dry. Works for me every time!

I notice that the picture of ingredients shows UNSALTED butter, but it doesnt specify that in the recipe. Should it be Unsalted or regular butter?
Trish - Mom On Timeout says
Either will work in this recipe Tammie – thanks!

Hi! We want to make your 3 ingredient apple dip for my daughters wedding favors. We plan on using the 4oz canning jars. Would you have any idea how many that would make?
