If you like lemonade, welcome to your new favorite thing in the whole world…Party Perfect Mint Lemonade. I made this lemonade last week in preparation for my sister’s baby shower. I seriously could not get enough of it. When I made it for her this past weekend I knew it was going to be a hit…and it was. Today, I’m sharing it with you!

I feel like it’s baby season right now which is pretty much the BEST season ever. I am a total sucker for little ones and I get so happy and emotional when I see families open their hearts and lives to the most amazing experience ever – parenthood.

Recently my friend Joanne of Fifteen Spatulas and her husband Pete welcomed home little baby James and let me tell you, this little boy is one precious and completely adored baby. And he’s pretty darn cute to boot 🙂

As online blogging friends are apt to do, we are throwing Joanne a Surprise Virtual Baby Shower today and I signed up for a beverage. This Party Perfect Mint Lemonade is not only ideal for baby showers but just about any party you could imagine. I will absolutely be gulping down gallons of this stuff all.summer.long.

Completely refreshing and so unbelievably yummy, it’s my new favorite beverage for any and all parties.

Reading Joanne’s account of James’ birth made me wish that I had been there with a cold glass of this mint lemonade to help her through her amazing ordeal. The funny thing about delivery is this: no matter how traumatic or tumultuous or utterly painful, there is a beautiful baby at the end and somehow that precious little being makes every.little.thing completely worth while. I am so happy for Joanne and Pete and while I can’t be there in person, I am thrilled to have some part in celebrating their new family.

Party Perfect Mint Lemonade

Ingredients

• 1 cup granulated sugar
• 7 cups water divided
• 3 sprigs mint
• 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
• 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
• 1 tbsp orange zest
• 1 tbsp lemon zest
• ice

Instructions

• Bring sugar and 2 cups of water to a boil. Reduce heat to medium high and let simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
• Stir in mint sprigs, orange juice, lemon juice, orange zest, and lemon zest. Let sit for one hour.
• Strain, removing mint and zest.
• Stir in the remaining 5 cups of water and pour over ice.
• Serve immediately with fresh lemon slices and min sprigs.
