Strawberry Lime Agua Fresca is the perfect refreshing drink for a hot summer day!
I love making up punches and other special beverages when we have parties or guests over. Sometimes though I just want something that I can whip up super quick and that isn’t overly sweet. Agua frescas are perfect for just those occasions. Agua Fresca translates to fresh water and these beverages are just as refreshing as that sounds! You can make Agua Fresca out of virtually any fruit. My mother-in-law makes these for us during the summer months and they are such a treat! She doesn’t add any sugar to hers but I find that it really depends on the sweetness of your fruit. Agua fresca. Just sounds cool doesn’t it?
I made up this batch while Reece was at school. When he came home he drank his agua fresca and then it was time to head for soccer and then swim practice. Guess what he requested when he got home? Mas agua fresca!  For this batch I didn’t bother with the straining – I just put the ingredients in the blender and zapped it for a few minutes. The boys actually prefer it with a bit of foam 🙂
If you want the agua fresca to look how I show them pictured, make sure to strain through a fine mesh sieve and just discard the pulp. Chilling the agua fresca for a couple of hours really makes this drink even more refreshing. You can serve it over ice or even add some lemon-lime soda to make it more of a punch. Either way it’s delicious! I can’t wait to share some more variations of this quick and easy drink with you! So many ways to enjoy and they are all delicious!

Just made this! So good & kid approved. Question: do you think it’s possible to make this for a 25 person party?
Trish - Mom On Timeout says
Thanks Audrey! And yes – I do 🙂 Agua Fresca holds up really well chilled so I would just make it all in advance and then served it with some frozen strawberries to keep it nice and cold for the party. So glad you enjoyed the recipe!

Trish:
With regard to your Strawberry Lime Agua Fresca, what is the measurement for the sugar? It says, 1/4 sugar and I wonder if that’s 1/4 teaspoon, tablespoon, or cup? Thanks.
Trish - Mom On Timeout says
That pesky little “c” 🙂 It’s 1/4 cup but it really depends on the sweetness of your strawberries so adjust accordingly. Thanks Diane!
